3 Former NSA Employees Praise Edward Snowden, Corroborate Key Claims
Whether history will call Edward Snowden a traitor or a hero will depend on whether the police state survives or not. If you think Snowden is a traitor, you are not paying attention!

The Different Types of Solar Powering
- Grid Tied: aka grid solar panel kits. These generate electricity and channel it back to your utility company which decreases your electricity bill.
- Grid Tie with Battery: Similar to the grid tied in that it generates electricity and channels it back to your utility company. But when the utility grid is down, you still have the battery-operated back up system to provide power.
- Off Grid: This type of solar power is totally independent of the electric utility grid. Your power is generated totally by the sun.
What’s In a Kit?
Generally, it depends on the type of system you want and may also depend on the company you purchase from.
- A grid tie kit includes the solar panels, an inverter, electrical components (boxes, cabling, disconnects) and an instruction manual and videos.
- An off-grid kit includes solar panels, batteries, an inverter, electrical components (boxes, cabling, disconnects) an installation videos and manual.
There Are Different Types of Solar Panels
From One Block Off the Grid:
- Monocrystalline silicon (mono-silicon or single silicon)
- most efficient; sunlight is converted into more energy than with the other panels; more expensive, but fewer are needed; ideal for roofs; cells are square.
Polycrystalline silicon (multicrystalline, multi-silicon, ribbon)- lower silicon content than mono panels; less expensive, but also less efficient; good for roofs; silicon is woven through thin rectangular conduit wires.
- much less efficient, may not last as long as regular panels.
- these panels are not for generating electricity; instead, they produce hot water; some systems can even provide heat and air conditioning, too.
Buying vs. Building
According to Yahoo!, it is cheaper to “build your own solar energy generator than buying a comparable retail model” and “you only have to commit less than a week — most take a full weekend — to build a solar energy system.” And the Mother Nature Network says you can even use “blemished and damaged solar cells from eBay,” but “there’s a lot of labor needed to actually build the thing, and you need the skills in the first place.” Be careful if you choose this route, though — Clean Technica warns that “any time a solar panel gets chipped or cracked, it becomes ‘unsafe’ and must be replaced.”

Homesteading - Growing in an urban environment. Just remember that each seed should have the season to plant in normal conditions. However if you build a Urban Greenhouse you will be able to plant a number of more things year round as long as it is a Solar Catcher Green House.

An interesting alternative to the beavers tail / Transporter Tail, this ‘tail’ has compression straps as usual, but appears to be sealed at the bottom and sides by an expandable mesh panel.
Great idea to keep stuff from falling out of the bottom, especially if the size of the main compartment is going to be changing frequently as stuff is removed and then added back in. This mesh would mean the compression straps don’t need to be adjusted each time.
However, it would limit the possible usages of the tail to only those that fit the shape of the mesh.
I do like the zippered pocket on the outside of the tail.
Found here, but sadly the tacticalstuff blog is now gone :(
